A few of the stories behind our sandwiches

Spicy Tuna

During the COVID lockdown, Zac & his wife Kelly were exploring creating a spicy tuna salad for melts while they were bored one afternoon. Kelly nailed it on her first attempt. With some small changes since then, we have the ever popular spicy tuna salad mix that we serve today at Wigz!

Sir Melvin

Inspired by one of his favorite sandwiches as a kid, Brennen Mulvaney (founding consultant & good friend) created the Sir Melvin on a sample loaf of Squaw bread during a break in our first weeks of the shop. It was an instant hit and has since cultivated a local following.

DENwich

Created by Mike at The Den Barber Shop, it was an instant hit amongst his colleagues. This earthy take on the Turkey Bacon Avo was so popular amongst them and our staff, we decided to throw it on the menu. Like the longstanding Barber Shop, we expect this sandwich to be a hit for years to come.

Jake’s BLTA

Hired during a career break in October 2023, Jake did not like that we lacked a BLT on the menu. The issue was the owner Zac didn’t want a plain old BLT on the menu. Jake stepped up to the plate and delivered a BLT with a zangy twist, our Mago x Wigz spicy mayo and perfectly toasted Sourdough with hints of Garlic.

Oliver’s
Tsunami Pastrami

To long for the menu we had to cut down on the name but, Oliver’s Tsunami Pastrami was created while tinkering with a shift meal. This daring Pastrami sandwich hits you with a multitude of flavors that includes our Spicy Slaw, BBQ Sauce, and of course our Dutch Crunch pannini grilled with our house made Garlic Mayo.

Laguna Caprese Con Carne

Sean’s take on a (loosely based) Caprese awed our staff. It made its’ way up the charts to the owner and his trusted council. Although met with initial hesitation, this sandwich wowed everyone who tried it. This can be made as a veggie sandwich or, as initially created, con carne which adds the extra flavor of Capicolla and Bacon into the mix. Definitely worth the try.
